The Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) has named Surgery Center of Rome as a Center of Excellence in Surgical Safety: Smoke Evacuation.
AORN’s Go Clear Award signifies that the surgical teams at Surgery Center of Rome have successfully completed the comprehensive, evidence-based program and adopted technologies to ensure a surgical smoke-free environment for its patients and staff.
“AORN created this program so that every facility can understand the urgency and take steps to protect the health and safety of patients, nurses, doctors and support staff,” said AORN CEO and Executive Director, Linda Groah. “This Center of Excellence for Surgical Safety designation shows the community that the surgical teams at Surgery Center of Rome are committed to providing high-quality care.”
“The staff of Surgery Center of Rome go above and beyond every day to ensure our patients receive excellent quality care,” said Sheila Hall, AdventHealth Redmond’s quality, patient safety and risk manager. “Receiving these awards provides recognition of our team’s continued efforts in patient safety but also spotlights our goal of enhancing workplace safety for our operative team.”
In addition to the Go Clear Award, Surgery Center of Rome was also bestowed Newsweek’s America’s #2 Best Ambulatory Surgery Center in Georgia based on recommendations from medical professionals and a thorough analysis of the facilities’ performance data.
Neal Jochimsen, an administrator for Surgery Center of Rome, said, “These awards extend the long list of accomplishments achieved by the team at Surgery Center of Rome. The care they provide to every patient every day is nothing short of amazing.”
