OCALA, Fla., — Hospital leaders, local government officials and community members took the next step in bringing better access to high-quality emergency care to Ocala with the groundbreaking ceremony for the new AdventHealth Heathbrook ER in Ocala.

The AdventHealth Heathbrook ER will have 12 exam rooms, including a resuscitation room, a bariatric room, an isolation room, obstetrics-friendly room and pediatric-friendly rooms. There will also be one triage room near the lobby to help get patients seen and into treatment quickly. The ER will also offer lab services, X-ray, CT and ultrasound scans.

We're delighted to take this latest step and further grow our footprint here.”

Mayor Ben Marciano of the city of Ocala, AdventHealth Ocala President & CEO Erika Skula and Marion County Fire Rescue Chief James Banta all spoke as part of the ceremony on Wednesday, April 2.

“What makes AdventHealth special is the staff and the spirit of God in the facilities and I’m very grateful for the work you all do,” Mayor Marciano said. “It’s exciting to witness the growth within our community and truly inspiring to see organizations like AdventHealth dedicated to serving the needs of our residents and we are so grateful for that.”

AdventHealth continues to invest dollars right back into the communities we serve. The nearly 14,000 square-foot, 12 bed freestanding (offsite) emergency department is being built at 3941 SW College Road.

HuntonBrady is the architecture firm chosen for the project and Robins & Morton will manage the construction. The AdventHealth Heathbrook project is just the latest in the longtime partnership between AdventHealth and Robins & Morton.

“The groundbreaking of AdventHealth Heathbrook ER celebrates our long-term partnership with AdventHealth and reflects our commitment to enhancing both patient and healthcare worker experiences,” Robins & Morton Division Manager Todd Watson said. “We look forward to implementing thoughtful, efficient, and quality-driven construction on this project.”

The AdventHealth Heathbrook ER, a department of AdventHealth Ocala, is scheduled to open to new patients in early 2026.
