The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recognized all AdventHealth hospital locations in the greater Pasco County Area for providing the highest quality care to patients in its latest release of CMS hospital quality scores. Since joining the AdventHealth network in 2018, AdventHealth Dade City experienced a significant advancement, rising to a CMS 4-star rated facility in just four years. Additionally, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel and AdventHealth Zephyrhills both maintained a CMS 5-star rating for overall hospital quality and patient safety. The CMS ratings are a federal resource to assist the public in choosing the best hospitals for care.
“Our ‘patient-centered’ approach has allowed us to become one of the safest health care destinations in the United States,” said Amanda Maggard, President and CEO of AdventHealth Dade City and AdventHealth Zephyrhills. “This prestigious recognition is an indicator that the robust strategies our care teams have implemented are effective and will ensure the best possible outcomes. We are so proud of this accomplishment.”
Hospital leaders implemented a series of best practices to build a clinical infrastructure focused on safe and effective care to reach the top designations. According to CMS, more than 4,500 hospitals were evaluated nationwide. The rating system is based on safety of care, readmission, patient experience, timeliness of care and mortality.
AdventHealth is committed to clinical excellence and providing the safest facilities for patients to receive care when they need it most. In addition to achieving the top scores from CMS, AdventHealth Dade City, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel and AdventHealth Dade City also achieved ‘A’ grades in patient safety from the prestigious Leapfrog group.
