DELAND, Fla., July 27, 2016, Florida Hospital DeLand has named Mary Jane Lindquist to serve as clinical nurse manager of the hospital's progressive care unit (PCU).
On the PCU, patients are less critical than the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) patients but require more care than provided on the regular nursing floors.
In her new role, Lindquist will oversee Florida Hospital DeLand's newly remodeled 20-bed PCU and nearly 30 full-time team members, managing patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and employee engagement.
Lindquist is a registered nurse and has more than 32 years of experience. She has worked at Florida Hospital DeLand for seven years and most recently served as clinical lead for the PCU, overseeing the staff on her shift to ensure patients received quality, compassionate care.
A DeLand resident, Lindquist received her nursing degree from Royal Alexandra Hospital School of Nursing in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada.
Additionally, she earned the Progressive Critical Care Nurse (PCCN) certification from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses. This national credential validates a nurses knowledge of nursing care of acutely ill adult patients and promotes continuing excellence in progressive care nursing.
