AdventHealth DeLand recently received the Exceptional Community Partner of the Year award from the City of DeLand. This award recognizes AdventHealth for their efforts to address health needs in the Spring Hill community of DeLand.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this special recognition for the transformative work we're doing to address critical health priorities locally,” said Eric Lunde, AdventHealth DeLand president and CEO. “Our focus on improving access to quality health care, housing, food security, and workforce development stems from the fact that 80% of health care outcomes occur outside hospital walls, underscoring the importance of these factors.”
AdventHealth is committed to improving the health of the communities it serves with investments of more than $1.5 billion annually in Florida to benefit the underprivileged and support overall health, wellness, safety, and spiritual well-being. In 2022, AdventHealth invested $33.2 million in the DeLand community.
Within the Spring Hill community of DeLand, AdventHealth has been a steadfast supporter of those in need, providing health services, education and resources. In May, AdventHealth partnered with several local organizations to host a free community health day, offering biometric screenings, COPD support, smoking cessation, cancer screenings and spiritual health services.
