APOPKA, Fla.— AdventHealth Apopka recently opened an infusion center. The new center is designed to provide residents of Apopka and the surrounding area with a convenient option for receiving intravenous medications and treatments.
The state-of-the-art center is located within the hospital and is staffed by a comprehensive clinical team. The center features the latest technology and equipment to ensure patients receive the highest level of care.
The new infusion center is designed to treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, autoimmune disorders, and more.
“We are dedicated to providing world-class, state-of-the-art care close to home for as many patients as possible,” said Dr. Omayra Mansfield, chief medical officer at AdventHealth Apopka. “Opening this infusion center in Apopka increases the options for patients have to receive care at a place most convenient for them.”
Prior to the opening of the infusion center, residents of Apopka had to travel more than 10 miles to receive this type of medical care.
The infusion center joins a robust lineup of established cancer services at the campus, including world-class specialists in breast and colorectal oncology. AdventHealth Apopka continues to grow with new comprehensive cancer services coming later this year, positioning the facility as the only one of its kind in the region.
The center includes 17 infusion bays along with two isolation bays. In addition, it has an on-site laboratory and pharmacy, which allows the patients to receive comprehensive care in one convenient location.
“We are excited to open our new infusion center and provide our patients with a state-of-the-art facility,” said Eulanie Lashley, chief operating officer at AdventHealth Apopka. “Our team is passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients, and we are confident that our new infusion center will allow us to serve the community even better.”
Infusible and injectable drugs require preparation by medical professionals and monitoring of patients while the drugs are administered. Infusion centers allow patients to receive this care in an outpatient setting that they visit regularly throughout their treatment regimen.
AdventHealth Apopka invested $8 million in the new center, which opened to the public in late May.
