Radiation therapy uses beams of intense energy (similar to X-rays) to kill cancer cells. We develop a personalized plan to treat your tumor with a targeted approach.

Radiation therapy treatment is usually given in two ways: by machines that beam gamma rays from overhead or inserting small radiation implants under your skin.

Unlike chemotherapy, which exposes your entire body to cancer-fighting medications, radiation is aimed at only the affected part of your body.

Radiation options are based on your specific needs, but may include:

You might have several sessions over a few days or weeks, and your radiation oncology team can customize your treatment for the best possible results.

To make you as relaxed and comfortable as possible during your treatments, you’ll be fitted for a custom pillow, and we also use medicine to lower the side effects of radiation, like fatigue, sensitive skin and nausea.
