It is our honor to recognize Doctors Jeff and Lisa King as March’s Volunteers of the Month. Through serving as volunteer physicians on Sharing Smiles’ cleft lip and palate missions and by making generous donations to AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida’s Sharing Smiles program, Doctors Jeff and Lisa continue to bring hope and healing to disadvantaged children in developing countries.
Because of generous volunteers like Jeff and Lisa, Sharing Smiles can continue to transform the lives of children by providing facial reconstructive surgery, pediatric dentistry and pediatric physical therapy to children who wouldn’t receive it otherwise.
Jeff and Lisa said it best, “AdventHealth Sharing Smiles is about more than just pretty faces. It is about hope. Hope that comes from knowing that regardless of the circumstances children face, there is no reason to despair because people do indeed care about them.”
Doctors Jeff and Lisa King met at the University of Florida where they both pursued Neurobiology degrees. Together, they continued their education and obtained Doctor of Medicine degrees at the Baylor College of Medicine. Today, Jeff and Lisa happily live in Windermere, Florida. They have two wonderful sons; both sharing the same heart for missions as their parents and have served as full time missionaries in countries including Honduras and Cambodia. Jeff and Lisa continue to be active within their church and community.
“Our joy in life is to spend time with family and friends, doing the things we love. One of the things we love the most is volunteering with Sharing Smiles.”
