Vena Sumner-Burns, LCSW

Vena Sumner-Burns, LCSW, is a mental health specialist. A licensed clinical social worker, Vena is deeply committed to the care of all her patients and is honored by the privilege to help them restore their whole health by helping patients address various mental health concerns at home, in school, and in outpatient settings.

Throughout her clinical practice, Vena has had the honor of accompanying many children, adolescents and adults through their mental health struggles that include trauma, anxiety, depression, anger management, domestic violence, abuse, stress, substance use, LGBTQ+, difficulties with adjustment, grief, low self-esteem and more.

Vena earned her master’s degree in social work at Campbellsville University in Kentucky. Along with providing her patients with outstanding care, Vena enjoys spending time with her family, reading and being surrounded by God's amazing creation.

Vena Sumner-Burns, LCSW, approaches her care for others with a servant’s heart and wants to make a positive impact on her patients’ lives. Vena offers a variety of evidence-based interventions, including but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma affect regulation guide education therapy (TARGET), the Seven Challenges and solution-focused therapies.
