Shandi Appier, MD, FAAP

Shandi Appier, MD, FAAP, is a Board-certified internist and pediatrician with AdventHealth Medical Group Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, where she provides care for patients of all ages, including newborns.

Prior to joining AdventHealth in 2022, Dr. Appier’s clinical experience included work in the ICU, the PICU, the NICU, as well as adult care, general pediatric care, newborn care and emergency care. She has a strong clinical interest in preventive care and international medicine. In her practice, she values interdisciplinary care and is especially attentive to the continuity of care across outpatient and inpatient settings and between pediatric and adult medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).

Dr. Appier earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, where she also completed her internal medicine and pediatrics residency. She has earned a number of honors, including induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She was appointed chief resident during her residency and also served as president of the Doctors' Notes Choir. She has volunteered with the JayDoc Free Clinic and as an international medical volunteer with the Malawi Medical Mission.

When she's not at the office, Dr. Appier enjoys reading, singing, visiting family, hiking and traveling, especially with her dog.
