Paula Hernandez Burgos, MD

Paula Hernandez Burgos, MD, is a cardiologist with board certifications in internal medicine, adult echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Hernández is deeply committed to caring for patients with diverse cardiovascular concerns and is particularly interested in disease prevention, minority health and women’s cardiovascular care. She treats patients ages 18 and up.

Dr. Hernández Burgos earned her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus; she completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and her fellowship in cardiovascular diseases, also at USF in Tampa.

Along with providing her patients with exceptional care, Dr. Hernández Burgos loves spending time with her family and dogs. She also enjoys traveling to new places, but her favorite place to travel is back home to Puerto Rico.

Paula Hernández Burgo, MD, believes prevention is the basis of cardiovascular health and is dedicated to empowering her patients with the knowledge and tools they need to proactively manage their health.

Dr. Hernández Burgos also strives to combine her Hispanic background with clinical expertise to address the unique health care challenges faced by underrepresented minorities, including women, in our communities.
