“Health is a great treasure. It is the richest possession that mortals can have.”

I was raised with the knowledge that my body is sacred; that all that went into it or on it should be carefully considered. Instilled in me was a love and appreciation for all things natural, for both maintenance and restoration of health. Nutrition, exercise, water, sunlight, temperance, fresh air, rest, and trust in divine power-these are the basics I was taught to live by. I have learned that these principles are far from basic, instead powerful means of healing and achieving holistic wellness. Nature, as well as our innate senses, one of its special gifts, has what is needed for wholeness.

As medicine and wellness were always a core part of my life, I pursued a bachelors of science in nursing at the age of 18. Birth captured my heart during nursing school and I was certain I would return to this sacred space. I worked in various specialties for several years following, further piquing my interest in multi-system disease management, prevention, and complimentary behaviors to augment healing. Outside of the workplace, I have participated in community health fares/initiatives in many states, community events with churches or organizations, mission trips/clinic development abroad- all with the goal of meeting needs and equipping the public with tools to adapt practices that improve their quality of life.

I then pursued a Master's of science in Nursing from Georgetown University, earning a dual degree in Nurse Midwifery/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Clinical experiences have provided me with countless opportunities to provide care to women across the lifespan, including pregnancy and the delivery of hundreds of precious babies. What has become clear over the years is the need to tailor any treatment plan to meet emotional, psychological, as well as physical needs of each woman/family. Guidance and support with respect to the natural miracle that is birth.

I firmly believe that each woman/family deserves an experience that is safe, transformative, healing, and restorative. Midwifery is my love, an artistic space at which nature and science beautifully coexist. I practice at the intersection of evidence based medicine and complementary alternative health modalities, ensuring that those within my care have success and health inside and outside of the exam room.
