Luv Hajirawala, MD, FACS

Dr. Hajirawala is a double board-certified Colorectal and General Surgeon. His practice spans a wide range of illnesses including, but not limited to, cancers of the colon and rectum, anal cancer, anorectal warts/dysplasia, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), benign and malignant appendiceal diseases, gallbladder disease, hernias, pilonidal cysts and anorectal conditions including hemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas. Dr. Hajirawala specializes in advanced minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, which lead to accelerated patient recovery and improved post-surgical outcomes.

Upon completing his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of South Florida, Dr. Hajirawala attended FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami for his doctorate. He then completed his General Surgery residency, followed by a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. Throughout his training, Dr. Hajirawala has garnered numerous accolades including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honors society and yearly awards for superlative academic and clinical performance during his training. He served as the administrative chief resident during his final year of residency, and he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society during his fellowship. Dr Hajirawala is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.

Patient empowerment is of utmost importance to Dr. Hajirawala. He views his patients as partners in the provision of their medical care and encourages them to be active participants throughout the process.
