Karin Palman Bigman, MD

Karin Bigman, MD, specializes in oncology and hematology, the treatment of cancer and blood disorders. She is board certified in medical oncology, hospice and palliative care. She has served the community through the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center since 1995.

Dr. Bigman graduated Phi Betta Kappa from Boston University and Alpha Omega Alpha from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai and a fellowship in hematology/oncology from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York.

Dr. Bigman has been involved with instructing internal medicine residents, subspecialty fellows and students from Yale Medical School. She has kept the community up to date with lectures and articles on diverse topics including breast cancer, colon cancer, genetic testing and cancer prevention.

Before joining Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Bigman initiated and coordinated a new stem cell therapy program for breast cancer while practicing in Fairfield County, Connecticut. She has continued her aggressive treatment of breast cancer using the most cutting-edge protocols for her patients here in Volusia County.

Dr. Bigman is a strong advocate of healthy lifestyles and disease prevention, a viewpoint she incorporates into her daily clinical practice. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association and the Volusia County Medical Association.
