Jessica Yoakam, MD, FAAFP, MSCP, is a Board-certified family physician with AdventHealth Medical Group Primary Care at Prairie Star, located in Lenexa, Kansas. She offers the full spectrum of primary care for patients of all ages and her clinical interests include preventive care, pediatric care and women's health including menopause care.
Dr. Yoakam joined AdventHealth in 2024 after practicing in Lansing and Leavenworth, Kan. since 2007. In addition to her years of direct patient care, she has also served in a number of clinical leadership roles for hospital departments in Leavenworth. She also has worked as Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita, Department of Family and Community Medicine.
Dr. Yoakam is Board-certified in family medicine and also certified by the North American Menopause Society to deliver expert menopause care. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed her residency at the Mercy/Mayo Family Medicine Residency program, including service as chief resident. She then went on to complete a fellowship in women's health at University Hospitals Health System, and later completed the Physician Leadership Development Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
Dr. Yoakam has earned a number of honors for clinical excellence throughout her career, including having been named a Top Doctor by 435 Magazine each year since 2018 and numerous honors in the Leavenworth Times Readers Choice Awards, including the Best Family Physician award multiple years.
