What I Love About Being a Provider
The first thing that you should know about me is that I love meeting new parents. The chance to listen and help them through the everyday challenges makes my day go by so quickly. It seems that no matter what, each family has a different version of life. Each child is different and offers new and exciting challenges. The idea of helping them through the first few months of babyhood and challenging toddler hood keeps me going. Having 3 children keeps me on my toes and I learn new things every day. Each child is different and offers new and exciting challenges.
I don’t think I will ever stop loving my job because of how you and your children inspire me.
Where I Came From
I was born in Kansas City, KS and was the second of four children. We grew up close to Wichita State University, and the idea of going to college was never a question. I believe that every child should have the best education available.
My father works in medicine as well. His hard work is an inspiration to all of us. He specialized in behavioral health, and I still learn so much from him.
My mom has always loved working with children. Whether it was directing church camp, or now helping high school students plan for college. She has always inspired me to see each child as an individual with unlimited potential.
But it wasn’t all books and studying. Besides all of the normal games kids play, I also spent time playing volleyball, soccer, and running. Later I played four years of varsity collegiate volleyball. Today I spend a great deal of time with my husband, kids, and my extended family.
What Lead Me Here
My love of science and studying, combined with my pediatric rotation in medical school made pediatrics a forgone conclusion. As a young mother of three children myself (1 daughter and 2 sons) it isn’t just textbook learning or listening to other parents. I understand what you are going through. Children should have a safe and fun childhood, full of learning and laughter.
What I Enjoy Outside of Work
Spending time with my family is important to the balance of my life. And we also love to travel, especially the national parks and Europe. - Personal Interests
