Jay Redan, MD, FACS, is a pioneer in the field of minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery and one of Central Florida’s most respected general surgeons with over 30 years of experience. His unsurpassed expertise in robotic surgery began in 2007. Today he serves as Medical Director of Minimally Invasive General Surgery – a destination health resource for patients across the state of Florida and beyond. A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Redan has served as President of the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, President, and Governor of Florida Chapter American College of Surgeons, and currently serves as the Chief of Surgery at AdventHealth Celebration.

Dr. Redan has also been a member of various committees including Chairperson of the Continuing Medical Education workgroup and Committee on Interprofessional Education for the American College of Surgeons. He is a Charter member of the Society of Robotic Surgery, and a member of the Academy of Master Surgical Educators - a lifetime honor from the American College of Surgeons. He actively continues to participate in many of the country’s most prestigious medical associations. His obvious dedication to his patients has also earned him multiple Patient’s Choice Awards.

Dr. Redan enjoys travelling and sporting events. Additionally, he loves animals and even spends time at Animal Kingdom and Sea World performing minimally invasive surgery when the animals need him.
