James Baumgartner, MD

Dr. Baumgartner is a board-certified pediatric neurosurgeon who specializes in traditional and minimally invasive surgical procedures for children and adolescents who are suffering from epilepsy or seizure-related disorders. He has published numerous peer- reviewed journal articles, abstracts and book chapters, as well as presented nationally and internationally. As the surgical director of the Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Center at the Walt Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital for Children, Dr. Baumgartner has earned a reputation in his field for his surgical skill and positive patient outcomes. Working closely with the rest of the team in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, his goal is to relieve the severity of symptoms and increase the accuracy and success of seizure-related procedures. He and the physicians at Neurosurgeons for Kids provide comprehensive neurosurgery to young patients of all ages, offering multidisciplinary care through our craniofacial, plagiocephaly, neuro-oncology and neurofibromatosis clinics.
