Gustavo Bello, MD, FACS

Dr. Gustavo Bello joined AdventHealth from Baltimore, Maryland, where together they built one of the area’s busiest and most highly regarded bariatric surgery programs with an average of 1200 cases per year. Dr. Bello is using his expertise to further establish our program as a destination for weight-loss surgery that’s unlike any other. He believes in the life-changing power of weight-loss surgery and is passionate about helping patients break free of chronic health conditions, feel confident and attain lifelong wellness. His focus is on personalized care experiences and sustainable results.

Dr. Bello is a native Venezuelan who earned his medical degree at the respected Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas before moving to Pittsburgh, PA for his general surgery internship and early residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital. He completed his surgical residency at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and continued there for his clinical fellowship in advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He previously was the founder and medical director of a groundbreaking weight loss surgery center in western Pennsylvania.

Today – as always – making patients feel comfortable, heard, reassured and part of the family is a top priority for Dr. Bello and his team.
