George Anis Azar, MD

George Azar's healthcare career began in the laboratory, followed by volunteering for medical missions in the US and abroad. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Public Health from Boston University. He then attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School and did his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College.

Dr. George Azar is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who comes to us with impeccable credentials. In addition to his twenty years of excellent work with knees and hips, Dr. Azar expands the services at AdventHealth Orthopedic & Sports Medicine, Columbus, by bringing in sports medicine, general orthopedic care, and fracture care. Adding these orthopedic services broadens our ability to care for patients of all ages in Polk County and the surrounding region.

Dr. Azar is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys yoga and spending time with his wife, Mandy, and their four children. Outdoor activities, Traveling, Farming, and exploring the world in all its beauties, from the amoeba to the universe.
