Alex Young, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a certified adult-geriatric acute care nurse practitioner with AdventHealth Medical Group General Surgery at Shawnee Mission.



Prior to joining the General Surgery team, Alex worked as a registered nurse in AdventHealth Shawnee Mission's oncology unit and as a certified nurse assistant in the medical/surgical unit. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing through the adult-geriatric acute care nurse practitioner curriculum at Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences at Rockhurst University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences.
