About Our Program
AdventHealth Winter Park is a 342-licensed bed community hospital located in the city of Winter Park. At our hospital, we are committed to improving the lives of people in our central Florida community as well as visitors from around the world. Our clinical services include a comprehensive orthopedics institute, a primary stroke center designation, a 20-bed critical care unit, expertly guided emergency medical services, and a robust antimicrobial stewardship program. AdventHealth Winter Park is also the home of AdventHealth Medical Group Family Medicine at Winter Park Medical Residency Program. Our staff strives for clinical excellence in a cost-effective way while holding true to our mission: Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.
In 2018, to provide best practice pharmaceutical care while optimizing patient outcomes in our community, the Department of Pharmacy at AdventHealth Winter Park established a new PGY1 Residency Program, which was recently ASHP-accredited. The program expands both clinical and staffing services at our facility while advancing the development of the excellent pharmacy staff we currently have. Residents participate in a decentralized pharmacy model and work with multidisciplinary teams, monitor responses to drug therapy, and optimize pharmaceutical care to improve patient outcomes. Residents who complete the residency program will develop the critical thinking skills necessary to provide patient-focused care and become confident and independent clinicians in the healthcare team. Completion of the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program at AdventHealth Winter Park will provide eligibility for board certification and PGY2 pharmacy residency training.
Thank you for your interest in the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at AdventHealth Winter Park. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Sincerely,
