PALM COAST, Fla., January 6, 2016 Florida Hospital Flagler has hired Ney Ramirez to serve as chaplain.
In this role, Ramirez will offer emotional and spiritual support to every one of every faith, including employees, patients, and visitors.
Originally from Dominican Republic, Ramirez, now a Palm Coast resident, is trained both theologically, as well as clinically. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in computer technology from the Dominican Adventist University (Universidad Adventista Dominicana - UNAD), a Seventh-day Adventist co-educational university located in the Dominican Republic. He also earned a Master of Divinity from Andrews University Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, Mich., and completed his clinical pastoral education (CPE) residency at WellSpan Health York Hospital, a Level I trauma center in Pennsylvania.
All Florida Hospital chaplains are required to be seminary-trained, recognized and endorsed by the Seventh-day Adventist Chaplaincy Ministries Department and licensed by the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In addition, all must have at least four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) from an accredited ACPE.
Ramirez is fluent in English and Spanish.
