ORANGE CITY, Fla., June 28, 2016 Florida Hospital Fish Memorials Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is one of seven facilities in the nation to receive the Center of the Year award from Healogics, Inc.
Nearly 800 wound care centers qualified for this prestigious award, and the Orange City facility was awarded this accolade for the southeast region of Healogics.
It is such an honor to be selected for this award, said Pam Harkrider, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. I'm so proud of our team and the work that they've done. Wound care can be a difficult and demanding job, but this award recognizes the quality patient care we provide to each and every patient, as well as our staffs commitment and expertise.
In order to qualify for Center of the Year, stringent quality measures must be met, such as high healing outcomes, low days to heal and excellent patient satisfaction rates.
The Florida Hospital Fish Memorial Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time.
In 2015, Florida Hospital Fish Memorial cared for nearly 850 patients, providing specialized wound care and hyperbaric oxygen treatments, healing wounds and often preventing amputations. This makes a difference in the lives of the patients and returns them to a higher quality of life.
We may be located in a small community, but that doesn't mean we provide small care, said Dr. Godson Oguchi, infectious disease physician and Florida Hospital Fish Memorial medical director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. Not every center receives this award, so it is special. This demonstrates that if you do what's right for the patient, success will follow.
