- AdventHealth for Children
Our team has world-class training and extensive experience in treating all diseases for which transplantation is the only cure. This includes relapsed and refractory malignancies, bone marrow failure syndromes, sickle cell disease and other hemoglobinopathies, immune deficiencies, histiocytic disorders and inherited metabolic disorders.
With expertise in transplants from all types of donors – including siblings, parents, relatives and volunteers from around the world – we work to ensure that every child who needs a transplant will find the best possible donor. No child is turned away for lack of a donor. The cell source, be it bone marrow, peripheral blood or umbilical cord blood, as well as the pre-transplant preparative regimen are all chosen specifically for each child. In addition to cutting-edge transplantation, we offer comprehensive services that include pretransplantation consultation and evaluation, pediatric hematology and oncology program support, family education, social support services and long-term post-transplant follow-up. We support Florida Hospital for Children is the only program to be a Duke Health affiliate in pediatric bone marrow transplantation. This relationship partners our own world-class team with the clinical experience of Duke Health, a recognized leader in caring for children with blood and bone-marrow diseases. This relationship gives our team access to operational services, clinical trials and the clinical expertise of the Duke Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Program.
