- Biography

Joseph Chen, MD, is a board-certified sports medicine physician who earned his medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee, FL. He also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the same university. Dr. Chen completed a residency in family medicine at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Family Medicine Residency Program, Tallahassee, FL, and a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Self Regional Healthcare Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, Greenwood, SC. He previously served as team physician for men’s and women’s sports at Lander University, a NCAA Division II school in South Carolina.

I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I'm passionate about outdoor activities like saltwater fishing and bird hunting. Music is a big part of my life, and I love playing guitar, saxophone, drums, and bass. I'm also a dedicated FSU football fan and enjoy playing golf, though my golf game could use some work. Fun fact: I used to play guitar in a heavy metal band.
