Honoring Incredible Nurses
Every day, our nurses further our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ in countless ways. DAISY Award honorees personify the whole-person patient experience we offer, and these nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care.
DAISY Award recipients are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community, and we couldn't be more grateful for their dedicated and heartfelt care.
About the DAISY Award
- About The DAISY Foundation
-
The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of complications of the autoimmune disease idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP) at the age of 33. DAISY is an acronym for diseases attacking the immune system.
During Patrick's eight-week hospitalization, his family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided not only to him but to everyone in his family.
One of the goals they set in creating a foundation in Patrick's memory was to recognize extraordinary nurses who, through their incredible work every day, make a difference in the lives of so many.
- What Is the DAISY Award?
-
The DAISY Award is an international program to reward and celebrate the extraordinary, compassionate and skillful care nurses provide every day.
At AdventHealth Riverview, we’re honored to recognize one of our nurses with this special honor every quarter.
