Erik Stites, MD, is a board-certified transplant nephrologist. Dr. Stites earned his medical degree at Creighton University School of Medicine. He completed his fellowship training in general nephrology and transplant nephrology at the University of Colorado and subsequently joined the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program faculty. Dr. Stites’ primary research interest is the investigation of potential biomarkers to better identify and monitor immunologic risks and injuries after a kidney transplant.
Dr. Stites feels called to the field of transplant nephrology because it enables him to be a part of one of the most impactful procedures in modern medicine. He truly enjoys the collaboration between health care workers of different disciplines, patients and families that is needed to make a kidney transplant successful.
