Biography

Peter Peng, MD, FACS, is a board-certified surgical oncologist who earned a medical degree from Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, from which he also earned a Master of Science in biological sciences and completed a general surgery internship and residency. He completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. He spent two years in a surgical oncology fellowship, Hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) track at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Since 2012, Dr. Peng has been on staff at Kaiser Oakland Foundation Hospital and has been a clinical adjunct professor at the University of California, San Francisco. Beginning in 2019, he has been a surgeon research lead at the Kaiser Foundation Division of Research. Dr. Peng has also been involved in developing hospital cancer centers of excellence and cancer center accreditation.
