AdventHealth Hendersonville Welcomes New Physician Assistant to Grow Cardiology Care Team in WNC

HENDERSONVILLE, NC, October 11, 2024 – AdventHealth is excited to have Courtney Van Sickle, PA-C on our team at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Medical Office Building*. Van Sickle is a certified Physician Assistant and has more than 10 years of cardiac care experience. She is serving alongside AdventHealth Hendersonville cardiologists to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to our community.

Van Sickle earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. She then completed the Physician Assistant program and earned her Master of Medical Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Myers, FL.

Van Sickle is committed to providing every patient with patient-centered care. She was inspired to pursue a career in cardiology after watching her own father suffer from a major cardiac event. Because of this personal experience, she understands how important it is to educate her patients and their families by helping them learn and practice healthy preventative medicine.

“I explain medical conditions in simple terms and ensure patients understand their disease process, diagnosis, and treatment options,” Van Sickle explains. “By including them in every step of their care and explaining in terms they understand, they feel involved and connected and are able to make informed decisions about their care.”

With her extensive cardiac care experience, Van Sickle strives to deliver the highest-quality care possible to each and every patient. Communication is key to her philosophy of care, and she always works to keep her patients informed and involved in their personal health care journey.

“I love building a rapport with my patients and making joint decisions,” Van Sickle shares. “I want my patients to understand what they have going on and give them the knowledge and tools to make decisions and skills to improve.”

When she is not delivering compassionate, high-quality cardiac care, Van Sickle enjoys hiking, watching football, making jewelry and snuggling with her two furry pups. She also has discovered the value of rest and self-care to help her continue to feel whole.

Van Sickle is caring for patients at AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology at Medical Office Building*. To learn more or schedule an appointment, visit AdventHealthNC.com or call Call855-774-LIFE (5433).
