DELAND, Fla., December 19, 2019 – On Dec. 10, the DeLand Knights of Columbus, Council 6274, donated 125 teddy bears to AdventHealth DeLand.
This is the fifth year that local Knights of Columbus group has donated stuffed animals to the children at AdventHealth DeLand.
The hospital provided these donated teddy bears to children who visit the emergency department during the Christmas holiday.
“It is becoming a welcome tradition to see the Knights of Columbus visit our hospital each year,” said Tonya Trost, AdventHealth DeLand emergency department director. “More than 20% of our ER patients are under 18. In this year alone, our emergency department cared for more than 10,000 pediatric patients. That’s a lot of kids! These teddy bears helped bring cheer and comfort to our youngest patients.”
