DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., August 10, 2016 Board certified internal medicine physicians Dr. Mark La Starza and Dr. Michael Townsend of Coastal Internal Medicine Specialists have joined the Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners medical staff at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center.
Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners is the employed group of physicians for the Florida Hospital East Florida Region, which encompasses the six Florida Hospitals within Volusia and Flagler counties. Florida Hospital HealthCare Partners consists of more than 150 physicians, including both primary care physicians and specialists, and enjoys a mutual partnership with Florida Hospital based upon the close alignment of the hospitals mission and values.
La Starza has been serving Volusia County since 1998. He earned a medical degree, as well as a Ph.D, from Washington University School of Medicine, and completed an internal medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Townsend has been providing medical care to the community of Volusia County for more than 25 years. He earned a medical degree and completed both an internship and residency at the University of Arkansas College of Medicine.
Together at Coastal Internal Medicine Specialists, La Starza and Townsend provide adult vaccinations, Medicare wellness exams, health screenings, and geriatric care, as well as prevention, detection and treatment of acute and chronic adult medical illness.
