Advanced Laser Procedures for Targeted Solutions
- Laser Procedures
-
The pediatric dermatology team members at AdventHealth for Children are experts in using laser therapy to treat vascular birthmarks, including port wine stains and hemangiomas, pigmented birthmarks and scars of all kinds, from acne to burns.
Pulse Dye Laser
This laser uses concentrated light to treat vascular lesions such as port wine stains, capillary malformations and hemangiomas.
CO2 laser
This laser uses high energy to resurface the skin. It is used to treat scars and burn scars.
- Light Treatments
-
Light treatments, or phototherapy, use the same wavelength of ultraviolet (UV) light, consisting of only narrow-band UVB light. They're used for more widespread eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo and other skin conditions.
Excimer Lasers
The excimer laser's light is emitted in a highly controlled manner to treat specific skin issues, including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, vitiligo and palmar-plantar lesions.
Hand and Foot Lightbox
This effective lightbox treats skin conditions limited to the hands and feet, like contact dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis.
Full-Body Lightbox
When skin conditions like psoriasis affect large areas of the body, we use a full-body lightbox that uses narrow-band UVB light.
- Sedation Procedures
-
In some cases, our young patients will be more comfortable when they are able to fully relax. Our dermatologists works closely with our Sedation Service Unit to provide your child with an effective treatment that is as stress- and anxiety-free as possible.
