Melanie Carter, MD

Melanie Carter, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB/GYN. She is a highly experienced practitioner, meeting women's health care needs across the lifespan. Her areas of focus include routine and high-risk obstetrics, preventive women's care, birth control, vaginal infections, abnormal uterine bleeding, PCOS, endometriosis and pelvic pain, infertility, fibroids, polyps, pelvic organ prolapse, and menopause management.

Dr. Carter received her medical degree from the University of Colorado. She went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.

Dr. Carter feels called to practice medicine as a teacher, as well as a woman who can relate to her patients not only professionally but personally. As an OB/GYN, she sees herself as a teacher, healer, supporter, coach and friend. As part of her practice, she performs vaginal and cesarean delivery, IUD insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy, polyp removal, myomectomy, fibroid and endometrial ablation, ovarian cystectomy, robotic-assisted total laparoscopic hysterectomy, colposcopy and LEEP.

In her free time, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, being outside, playing golf and staying involved in her church.

Dr. Carter is passionate about providing whole-person care for women, helping them understand and care for their bodies and supporting them through every stage of life. She is committed to developing long-term relationships with her patients and helping them live their best lives.
