Melissa Shelby, DNP, APRN

Melissa Shelby, DNP, APRN, is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse and doctor of nursing practice with over 30 years of experience. Melissa earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Innovative Leadership Program from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing, Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland in Baltimore, MD. She has been an acute care nurse practitioner at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center since 2011 and at Banner University Medical Center since 2020. Melissa cares for surgical oncology breast patients, plastic surgery patients, and other surgical oncology patients. Her extensive experience has included care for burn patients at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, FL, cardiothoracic surgery patients in Lexington, KY, and ICU patients in Norfolk, VA. Melissa also spent seven years as an acute care nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Melissa is the author of numerous professional publications and presentations and is an adjunct professor at Arizona State University, the University of Arizona and Grand Canyon University.
