AdventHealth Daytona Beach Surgery Center Milestone Moments
AdventHealth Daytona Beach recently celebrated significant milestones in the construction of its medical office building and ambulatory surgery center. This included installing the final beam of construction, signed by team members, and a tour of the building as it takes shape.
Spanning three floors, the 60,000-square-foot facility is located on the AdventHealth Daytona Beach campus and will be home to a comprehensive array of medical specialties, including cardiac care, general surgery, orthopedics, women’s care, imaging, ENT, plastic surgery and more.
Called the AdventHealth Surgery Center Daytona Beach, the architectural blueprint will mirror the multidisciplinary nature of health care delivery at this facility:
- The ground floor houses advanced cardiac rehabilitation, imaging services, and a surgical clinic dedicated to North Florida Surgeons.
- The second floor includes a 20,000-square-foot cardiology clinic catering to the needs of Cardiology Physicians Group.
- The third floor encompasses a 20,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center, tailored to serve both medical groups and an array of independent and AdventHealth Medical Group physicians.
“These recent milestones are not just about the building; it is a commitment to advancing health care in our community,” said Dr. Dinesh Arab of Cardiology Physicians Group, who serves as director of interventional cardiology at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. “We are shaping the future of cardiology in Daytona Beach.”
“Outpatient surgery centers are not only convenient, offering an excellent patient experience, but they also provide lower-cost options for the community to access high-quality care,” said Dr. Mark White of North Florida Surgeons. “Patients who don’t require acute care will be able to have their procedures done quickly and conveniently at this new facility, while still benefitting from the high-quality care AdventHealth Daytona Beach has been nationally recognized for.”
“We are excited about this collaboration with two of the leading independent physician groups in our area and know this will become a destination center for cardiovascular and surgical care,” said David Weis, President and CEO of AdventHealth Daytona Beach.
The $45.7 million building is a joint venture between AdventHealth and health care real estate services firm Meadows & Ohly. The architect on the project is HuntonBrady and the general contractor is Brasfield & Gorrie. Construction began in Feb. 2023 and is planned to open in the spring of 2024.
AdventHealth Daytona Beach was recently recognized as the No. 1 hospital in the Deltona-Daytona Beach metro area by U.S. News & World Report and is the only hospital in Florida to earn both 24 consecutive “A” Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades and a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
